Know before you go... Important reminders for the upcoming training day.

Check out what you need to know before the next NCW NAVHDA training day.   This will be the last training day before the June test.  We will be running mock NA and UT Tests.  Priority will be given in the training fields to those who will be testing in June.

Lunch will be available for a $5 donation.  Please bring a dish to pass.

Bird Orders must be placed by Wednesday, May 17!  

Bird Order Information

Birds MUST BE ORDERED at least TEN day prior to training days.  Bird orders are due on or before Wednesday, May 17 for the upcoming May 27 training day.
Pigeons, pheasants, ducks, and chukars* will be available for purchase for use by NCW NAVHDA members and must be picked up by 8:00am on training days.  We cannot guarantee the availability of pigeons so please source your own if possible.

*Please note due to supply issues, chukars will only be available to those testing in June.  We have placed a limit of 1 bird for dogs running in the Natural Ability test, and 4 birds for those running in the Utility test.  Thank you for your understanding.

June Test Volunteers Needed!

Test Day Volunteers - This is a great way to learn more about the tests and we will show you exactly what you need to do.  Bird planters and field marshals needed.

• Friday, June 2 (5pm):  2 people to set up
• Saturday, June 3:  1 field marshal, 1 assistant field marshal, 2 bird planters, 1 person to bring and serve lunch for 35 (you will be reimbursed for any associated costs)
• Sunday, June 4:  1 field marshal, 1 assistant field marshal, 2 bird planters
• Sunday, June 4 (3pm):  2 people to tear down

Lunch Volunteers Needed

​NCW NAVHDA has several opportunities for volunteers.  It is through our volunteers that our club is successful. 
Training Day Lunch - bring and serve a main course for approximately 50 people.  The club will reimburse you for any expenses.

April 29 Training Day Recap

We had a great turnout for our April 29 Training Day.  We had 64 people, and 50 dogs!  The day started with a demonstration of Steadiness.  After watching the demo, Vice President TJ McKenzie talked to members about different techniques that can be used, and then members had a chance to ask questions and then do some practice during their time in the field.

The puppy field had a great time working with young dogs, introducing them to birds and working on pointing.
